Drink up me hearties, yo ho!

Set sail on a spirited moonlight voyage through the balmy lagoons and seaside forts of the Caribbean, as a band of villainous pirates stage a full-scale attack on an overwhelmed fort.

The last attraction to be personally supervised by Walt Disney before his death, Pirates of the Caribbean opened in 1967 at the original Disneyland in California. Twenty-five years later, this version at Disneyland Paris refined and redefined the entire experience, reorganising the story and bringing every Audio-Animatronic and every special effect bang up to date.

However, whilst this version has the advanced technology of the 1990s, it steered clear of the Jack Sparrow-orientated film tie-ins added in California and Florida in 2006. Therefore, what you see here is the attraction just as Walt originally intended it.

From the jolly theme song to the crashing flume drops, to the disorientating and wonderfully atmospheric queue line, this attraction is not only one of the very best at the park – nor the resort – but one of the greatest themed attractions in the world. Drink up the atmosphere — it only gets better each time.
