charm of Main Street USA, and discover a warm, festive atmosphere just like
the good ol’ days.

It’s the turn-of-the-century, and everyone’s busy
getting ready for a glorious, festive, holiday season on Main Street USA!
The street comes alive with a busy seasonal atmosphere as it celebrates the
festive season with all the traditional charm and grandeur you’d expect,
with gleaming decorations of baubles, ribbons and garlands adorning every
building and colourful wreaths hanging around every lamppost.

This is Christmas with all the warmth, charm and
elegance of the good old days, a Christmas where everyone comes together to
spread good will, joy and… enchantment!

For the past two years, Disneyland Park’s grand
Giant Christmas Tree has been relocated to Central Plaza.  In 2006, the
tree makes its welcome return to Town Square, its home since 1992.

Towering proudly into the sky next to the Gazebo,
the tree is Main Street’s key Christmas icon and has been decorated in a
traditional turn-of-the-century style with baubles, toys and bright red
ribbons, plus a stack of presents at its base.

Once night falls, the tree becomes a part of
The Enchanted Fairytale Ceremony
and is illuminated thanks to Tinkerbell’s ever-useful pixie dust. After the
ceremony, the tree remains a cosy centrepiece to the enchanted Christmas
street, providing a traditional, warm glow just like the good old days!.

The tree measures 25 metres high, and features
permanent lights connected in to the park’s central control system, allowing
its spectacular light-up to take place in total synchronisation during

Enjoy the enchantment of a royal celebration! 
In honour of its royal guests, Main Street USA has erected a dazzling series
of towering chandeliers right along the length of the street. 
Featuring beads, tiaras and turn-of-the-century Princess portraits, the
Enchanted Fairytale Illuminations provide a sparkle of magic even during the
day.

When day turns to night, however, they really begin
to spread their magic!  After being illuminated during The Enchanted
Fairytale Ceremony, their columns glow with brilliant white and purple,
whilst the chandeliers themselves give an icy blue shine to compliment the
Ice Palace effects of Sleeping Beauty Castle.

The Enchanted Fairytale Illuminations were
introduced just last year, to bring something new and to replace the 13-year
old Lights of Winter arches, which had become too costly to maintain. 
The new Illuminations were designed not only with The Enchanted Fairytale
Ceremony in mind, but also to not disrupt the view of the castle from Main
Street during the season.

There are 26 large chandeliers lining Main
Street, with 8 more smaller lamps surrounding the Central Plaza stage.

This is a Winter weather forecast you can rely on! 
Every day, around every 15-20 minutes, the centre of Main Street, U.S.A.
will experience a magical, seasonal flurry of snowfall, blowing in from
across the rooftops.

Forecasts say the snowfall will be cold yet
enchanting, arriving with special wintry music and expected to last for the
entire Christmas Season.  Best hit areas appear to be between The
Emporium and Casey’s Corner, with extra snowfall apparently occurring during
The Christmas Parade!

The snowfall is actually a soapy foam, blown out
of special machines positioned on the rooftops of Main Street.  Don’t
worry, though – it has a special formula that won’t stain clothes and will
“melt” away on the cobbled streets within a few minutes.

Main Street’s music loop plays brass versions of
Christmas classics all day long during the season, but once a day a merry
group of carol singers present a special live medley of classic Christmas
carols from the curbside of Walt’s restaurant, at the heart of Main Street
USA.  From ‘Jingle Bells’ and ‘Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer’ to ‘Deck
the Halls’, let the jubilant live vocals lift your spirits and get you
thoroughly into the festive mood, before you continue on your Christmas
fantasy with a catchy Christmas rhythm stuck in your head all day long!

Each and every one of Main Street’s exciting stores
has been decorated inside and out for the festive season.  For 2006,
the popular Christmas window displays feature a Disney character advent
calendar, gradually building its way up the street of windows.

Inside the stores, you’ll find seasonal products
and festive gifts to suit every taste, all presented with special Christmas
displays and full decorations throughout the stores.  See The
Emporium’s beautiful central Bambi display, or the hundreds of ‘Hidden
Mickeys’ throughout the garlands and baubles in each boutique.

To keep you going through the cold Winter days, the
stores have stocked up on warm Winter clothing, whilst the countless
restaurants and food kiosks along the street and its two arcades are perfect
for a warm cup of coffee or cocoa in a relaxing seasonal atmosphere.
