Overview

All aboard!

Travel by train from the jolly pomp of Fantasyland’s British quarter to exotic and surprising destinations.

Sitting at the back of Fantasyland, behind Fantasy Festival Theatre, Fantasyland Station is often surrounded by stunning blossom trees in season and presents one of the most beautiful stop-off points on the entire line.

The station building mixes several styles of British building, from Tudor beams to the exuberant English station architecture of the railways’ golden age, lifted by baggage trolleys and other rail paraphernalia littering the platform.

Trivia & Fun Facts

  • Secrets lie beneath this station… Anticipating future park growth, the Imagineers planned and built a complete tunnel under the railroad tracks and station here, ready to lead to whatever may one day lie beyond the berm. In 1992, an updated version of Disneyland’s classic Matterhorn was the likely choice. Today, the rumours point to a dark ride based on The Little Mermaid, amongst other developments, with the new path connecting round into the back of Storybook Land, though this remains only a proposal. For now, the tunnel is used by Fantasy Festival Stage.
  • This British railroad station is entirely unique to Disneyland Paris. In Florida and California, the station in this area of the park is located in and themed to the Toontown-style lands, though this wasn’t always the case for California. Named Fantasyland Depot the 1955 station was themed to look like a simple Medieval tournament tent, but lasted only until 1966 when it was removed to make way for the original “it’s a smal world”. The only other park to currently have a Fantasyland Station is Hong Kong Disneyland, which has only a very basic canopy more in the style of California’s original station.

Helpful Tips

  • Once you’re on-board the Disneyland Railroad, you’re free to alight at any stop or stay on and ride for as long as you like!
  • Like the stations in Frontierland and Discoveryland, Fantasyland Station usually only opens from 12:30 onwards each day. Wait by the rope before this time and you should be one of the first in line, although may still have to wait some time for the next train.
  • Of the Disneyland Railroad stations, Fantasyland Station likely has the second-shortest queue time due to its slightly hidden entrance and location right at the back of the park, meaning more people decide to get off the train here.
